  • Research: Political Economy of poverty reduction:

      1. Research on determinants of economic growth and (impact) of market liberalization in Sub Sahara Africa and Asia.

      2. Research into food security in transition countries in general and with special focus on the role of micro-credits for rural households in Vietnam.

  • Teaching:

      1. Assistant and frequent lecturing in courses at the Faculty of Applied and Biological Sciences and at the Faculty of Economics and Applied Economic Sciences of the K.U.Leuven (“Agriculture and Food Policy”, “Problems of Developing Countries” )

      2. Assisting and examining graduate students regarding their final thesis.

  • Networking:

      1. Active member of local and international networks (academic and non academic) on sustainable poverty reduction and on the relation between economic integration and development.

      2. Writing research project proposals for national and international funding.
